Training

    Currently our weekly training schedule looks like this:

    Monday: Track session (Scotstoun), 6pm-8pm – transport provided*

    Tuesday: Gym session (Stevenson Building), 8:30pm-10:30pm

    Wednesday: Track session (Scotstoun), 6pm-8pm – transport provided*

    Friday: Additional track/hills session (location & time tbc)

    Saturday: Gym session (Stevenson Building), 3:30pm-5:30pm

    *Meet at the memorial gates (just along from the main university gates) from 5pm for a minibus to Scotstoun.

    For those athletes looking to train on a more regular basis, a number of our members also join local training groups, of which there are a number based around Glasgow. There has been interest in the club to create another training slot on Saturday morning; more information on this will be available soon.

    Coaching Setup

    Colin Sinclair (Head Coach; Sprints; Jumps)

    Catriona Cuthbert (Sprints)

    Martin Hayes (Middle Distance)

    Ruairidh Campbell (Middle Distance)

    Colin has years of experience coaching having successfully taken athletes to international standard. Catriona joins us while continuing a successful career herself and you’ll be hard-pressed to find anyone who completes as many races to such a high standard in league meetings as Martin. Ruairidh meanwhile assists while training with the group.

    If you are unsure what events to try, pop along to one of our sessions to speak with Colin and Martin or come to our stand at the Freshers’ Fayre in September. There is no pressure to stick with only one group and new athletes have the opportunity to try different events before finding one that suits them!
